ZONE / USER.
It is recommanded to install a safety device to guarantee a minimal protection. The choice of this minimal protection depends on the "ZONE" and the type of "USER".
The standard distinguishes 2 types of "ZONE" where the "MACHINE" is installed. |
"PRIVATE ZONE" "PUBLIC ZONE" |
The standard distinguishes 2 types of "USER" OPERATING WITH THE "MACHINE". |
"AUTHORIZED USERS". "GENERAL PUBLIC AS USERS". |
The combination of the two, gives us 3 "TYPES OF USE" :
TYPE 1 : |
"AUTHORIZED USER" + the "MACHINE" is in a "PRIVATE ZONE". A limited number of people is trained / authorized to use the "MACHINE". Typical example : The automatic doors on a load platform which is not on the public road and whose users are trained to the manoeuvre. |
TYPE 2 : |
"AUTHORIZED USER" + the "MACHINE" is in a "PUBLIC ZONE". A limited number of people is trained / authorized to use the "MACHINE". Typical example : The automatic door of the garage of a private individual or of a collective private building whose users are trained to the operation.
|
TYPE 3 : |
"USER GRAND PUBLIC" + the "MACHINE" is necessarily in a "PUBLIC ZONE". The "MACHINE" is open to "GENERAL PUBLIC AS USERS". Typical example : A gate of a public car park.
|
The following table shows several types of minimal protection to adopt depending on the combination
"ZONE" / "USER" and the way of control:
Type of control |
Type 1 : AUTHORIZED USER PRIVATE ZONE. |
Type 2 : AUTHORIZED USER PUBLIC ZONE. |
Type 3 : GENERAL PUBLIC PUBLIC ZONE. |
CONTROL WITH PUSH-BOTTON TO KEEP PRESSED |
Obligation : Continuous presence of the user near the "MACHINE". Any obligation to install a sefety device. |
Type of control system FORBIDDEN FOR THIS GROUP. |
Type of control system FORBIDDEN FOR THIS GROUP. |
CONTROL WITH KEY CONTACTOR TO KEEP PRESSED |
Obligation : Continuous presence of the user near the "MACHINE". Pas d'obligation de dispositif de protection. |
Obligation : Continuous presence of the user near the "MACHINE". Pas d'obligation de dispositif de protection. |
Type of control system FORBIDDEN FOR THIS GROUP. |
CONTROL WITH PULSE NEAR THE "MACHINE". Infra-red remote control, push-button... |
Protection by limitation of forces or detection without contact, example : photoelectric cells. |
Protection by limitation of forces or detection without contact, example : photoelectric cells. |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
CONTROL WITH PULSE FAR FROM THE "MACHINE". Radio remote control, control by entry phone... |
Protection by limitation of forces or detection without contact, example : photoelecrtic cells. |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
AUTOMATIC CONTROL. Closing after a time delay. Buckle of detection floor located... |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
Protection by limitation of forces and (detection without contact or any other safety device). |
Example of interpretation of this table : The combination TYPE 1 / D :
The maximum forces. The unit control.

This combination shows the minimal protection for a gate or an automatic garage door to adopt. This combination can be used in 2 xays by a private person in a private or public zone, controlled by a radio remote control.
First: This might be a device for limitation of the force.( electronic limitation of force, sensor head gate...)
Second: Extract of the Standard: " A device which allows to detect a presence. The installation of this device has to guarantee that the moving gate cannot crash down any persone" for example by interaction of infra-red cells, which are arranged correcly.
